Our faculty are trailblazers, continually challenge the status quo and inspiring students to do the same. Our Botany and Plant Sciences Department includes five female National Academy of Sciences members, the largest of any single academic department in the nation.

Our acclaimed faculty are ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated to make a difference, finding creative and meaningful solutions to the world’s most pressing problems through their interdisciplinary and groundbreaking research. We’re here to support them.

Academic Personnel Office

The is committed to leading and serving 91±¬ÁÏ’s diverse and internationally renowned academic community. Office staff provide support for faculty appointments and development, merit reviews and promotions, leaves of absence, fellowships, and more. The office handles employment matters for all academic employees — from faculty and lecturers to adjunct professors and librarians — and is a great resource for navigating 91±¬ÁÏ policies and processes.

Research Computing

buoys the talent and research of 91±¬ÁÏ’s acclaimed faculty members and outstanding graduate and undergraduate students through powerful onsite and offsite computing resources, support, consulting, and training. Their work is supported by partnerships and collaborations with various areas of campus, including: the 91±¬ÁÏ Library, Bourns College of Engineering, College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, School of Medicine, Office of Research and Economic Development, and 91±¬ÁÏ Research IT Leaders. Through a recent 91±¬ÁÏ is modernizing its technology services, increasing campus computing and storage capacity — and saving our researchers both time and money.

91±¬ÁÏ is launching a fully online Master of Business Administration program this fall, opening the door for students across California, the nation, and around the world to earn a University of California MBA degree remotely while continuing their careers and personal responsibilities.

University of Minnesota fund raiser is 91±¬ÁÏ’s next development leader
A top development executive at University of Minnesota has been named 91±¬ÁÏ’s next vice chancellor for Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE). Travis Smith will also assume the role of president of the 91±¬ÁÏ Foundation following confirmation by the foundation board of trustees. Smith is currently senior vice president for central development for the University of Minnesota (UMN) Foundation.
